Shoreditch, London, 1963. The Beatles have beaten John Smith and the Common Men to No. 1 and satellites are being launched in outer space. Back down on Earth, strange goings-on are occurring: The normally placid teenagers of Coal Hill are running riot and a master thief is stealing highly specialised equipment. Schoolgirl Susan Foreman just wants an easy life for herself and her grandfather, the mysterious Doctor. She wants to be liked and accepted by Cedric and all the other pupils at Coal Hill School. But there’s trouble in in the streets and bombsites around Totter’s Lane. The teenagers are becoming dangerous…. Their mission: to hunt down anyone different, or alien…. Susan’s quiet life is about to spiral out of control. Having inadvertently started drawing attention to herself she finds herself drawn into a desperate situation. Suddenly, the chase is on and she and her grandfather are now the hunted—

Following an emergency landing, the TARDIS arrives on a remote world orbiting a peculiar star - a pulsar which exerts an enormous gravitational force, strong enough to warp time. On further exploration the Doctor and his friends, Jamie and Zoe, discover a human outpost on the planet surface, inhabited by scientists who are there to study an ancient city. The city is apparently abandoned, but the scientists are at a loss to explain what happened to its sophisticated alien architects. The Doctor discovers that something dark, silent and deadly is also present on the world - and it is slowly closing in on the human intruders...

Vengeance of the Stones

Two RAF fighter jets are on a training flight over North East Scotland when one of them is plucked from the air and promptly disappears. UNIT are called in, and the Doctor and Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart are soon on the scene. They enlist the help of a local military officer - a young lieutenant named Mike Yates. The Doctor discovers a link to the recumbent stone circles that are plentiful in this part of Scotland. The stones are thousands of years old, and are soon revealed to hold a terrible secret. Then Mike Yates disappears, abducted by an alien race that has a grievance with humanity. They intend to harness the power of the stones in order to take their revenge. For the Doctor and the Brigadier, the race is now on to save their new friend Mike and the entire planet Earth.

Available at the BBC Shop for £6.49.

Babblesphere

The violent, volcanic world of Hephastos is home to a colony of composers, painters, authors and poets, all striving to create the greatest works of art the universe has ever seen. But in pursuit of their goal, artistic collaboration has been taken a stage too far... When the Doctor and Romana arrive, they discover the colonists have neglected their well-being and their once beautiful habitat has now succumbed to decay. What's more, they are enslaved to the Babble network which occupies their every waking moment. Every thought, however trivial or insignificant, is shared with everyone else and privacy is now a crime. The colonists are being killed and the Doctor and Romana begin to suspect that a malevolent intelligence is at work...

Available at the BBC Shop for £6.49.

Smoke and Mirrors

The Doctor answers a psionic distress call sent from England in the 1920s. There, in the environs of a fairground, he is reunited with an old friend: Harry Houdini. To Adric and Nyssa the name means very little, but to the Doctor's companion Tegan he is a legend. Escape artist extraordinaire, Houdini's reputation will last for decades. But how does Houdini know so much about Tegan herself? Is it really just guesswork, as he says? Is Houdini right to be concerned about the fairground's fortune teller, who claims to have supernatural skills? Both he and the Doctor suspect an alien influence may be at work. What neither the Doctor nor his friends realise is that, somewhere in the shadows, a sinister and all too familiar presence is lying in wait for them...

Available for BBC Shop for £7.49

Image coming soonTrouble in Paradise

Responding to a desperate summons from the Doctor's future self, he and Peri find themselves on a sailing ship in 1492, where the crewmen are gripped by superstitious fear. They say the Devil walks among them, stalking and striking them down. Even though they have landed in paradise, they fear that 'El Diablo' himself will drag them over the edge of the world and into the depths of hell. When the Doctor and Peri meet the captain of the ship, they both discover that heroes can sometimes behave un-heroically. Peri's reaction leads her into deep water, and soon the Doctor fears not only for her life but also for the existence of the ship, the paradise island, and the Universe itself...

Available for BBC Shop for £7.49.

Image coming soonShockwave

In the far future, the inhabitants of Tarsus Six face a desperate struggle to evacuate their world before their sun, Tarsus Ultra, collapses into a cataclysmic spatial anomaly. When the Doctor navigates the TARDIS to a space station orbiting Tarsus Six, Ace assumes that he intends to offer their assistance. But it soon becomes clear that the Doctor has an agenda of his own. With the TARDIS immobilised, Ace realises that their own lives are as much in danger as those of the fleeing inhabitants. The race is on to escape the destruction of Tarsus Six and the devastating shockwave that will follow, reaching out and destroying everything in its wake...

Available at the BBC Shop for £7.49.

Image coming soonEnemy Aliens

1935: a message from a Time Lord in trouble sends the Eighth Doctor and Charlotte ‘Charley’ Pollard to the streets of London’s West End, in search of a mysterious alien adversary – unaware that something monstrous is already on their trail. They soon discover that an insidious conspiracy is indeed at work, its tentacles extending the length of the British Isles. Proving its existence won’t be easy, however, after a confrontation in a music hall ends up with the Doctor under arrest and Charley on the run, suspected of murder. All their hopes rest in a musical clue and a man named Hilary – neither of which are much consolation, with the two time travellers the object of a nationwide manhunt. And all the while, the enemy aliens are drawing closer and closer still…

Available at the BBC Shop for £7.49.

Image coming soonNight of the Whisper

New Vegas, 23rd Century - a sprawling city huddling inside an artificial atmospheric bubble on a distant moon. Whilst Rose Tyler works as a waitress in the Full Moon nightclub, Jack Harkness poses as a reporter for the Daily Galaxy. Meanwhile the Doctor is helping the police department with their investigation into The Whisper, a strange vigilante who has been terrorising the city's underworld. But the Doctor is also on a mission of his own - to save Police Chief McNeil's life at all costs.

Image coming soonDeath's Deal

Responding to multiple maydays, the TARDIS lands on the planet of Death’s Deal, but the distress calls are old, the final echoes of terrified lost souls. This is an exotic world of lethal creatures, nicknamed ‘The Deadliest Planet in the Galaxy’, and only the brave, foolhardy or greedy would ever dare to visit.Finding themselves stranded among a motley bunch of space-tourists, the Doctor and Donna must lead a struggle for survival against the frenzied wildlife, as they slowly realise that other members of the group have very different agendas. And soon the Doctor learns of an even bigger threat hiding on Death’s Deal. Doctor Who Figurine Collection Issue 1 Review Part 2

Hello,
I'm reviewing the brand new Doctor Who Figurine Collection Issue 1.This is Part 2 of the review.Let's get started!

The Magazine

I like love this cover. It's sleek and well presented. The cover is amazing.I'm speechless.

The introduction page is great. You get a summary of the Eleventh Doctor's role in "The Pandorica Opens".It is quick and short,so you can focus on the rest of the book.Next page,it is similar in the next page, but instead for learning about the Doctor in "The Pandorica Opens" you learn about the costume and origins.Going off-task,I have photos of Matt Smith's original costume ideas.
Matt Smith Doctor Who costume alternativesMatt Smith Doctor Who costume alternativesMatt Smith Doctor Who costume alternativesMatt Smith Doctor Who costume alternatives
Matt Smith Doctor Who costume alternativesMatt Smith Doctor Who costume alternatives

Looking at that, you learn about Ray Holman's tough job for making the bow ties popular again. And there is a picture of the Eleventh Doctor with boxes of text with arrows pointing at different elements of the suits giving you a inside story about the bit of the costume. The next page just includes the bit you were reading on page 4.There is a briefing on the Eleventh Doctor's hats.I find it utterly rubbish. You might expect something like this in Doctor Who Adventures,I recommend something on bow ties, but hats!A hat is not even on the figurine(even though they should of done a fez).Next,is about the episode of "The Pandorica Opens" and then about the legendary scene:
And then it turns into a mess, talking about The Underhenge and the Cybermen. They should of talked about the FX team making all those spaceships and the script and writing the scene.

Next you learn about events that happened in Doctor Who during 1963.I like this bit.It does give you a hint that there will be more than 50 issues.

Next we learn about the TARDIS.I do like the whole section, but the TARDIS talk makes it a bit from Doctor Who Adventures, which is a letdown.

And finally,you have a Q&A,which I like.You learn about things you wouldn't ask.Finally Finally,you get a summary about Steven Moffat's life and career.

Thank you for reading my first review.

P.S-I found a picture of the Tenth Doctor's figurine

Doctor Who Figurine Collection Issue 1 Review Part 1

Hello,
I'm reviewing the brand new Doctor Who Figurine Collection Issue 1.I will review all of them.Let's get started!

The Series Guide

The magazine contains a series guide,so you know what to buy over the next couple of months. So,first you see the first 7 and then 9.Eight is missing, but Issue 8 is The Tenth Doctor. So in order:
Issue 1-The Eleventh Doctor from The "Pandorica Opens"-28th August 2013
Issue 2-Davros from "Journey's End-12th September 2013
Issue 3-Cyber-Controller from "Age of Steel"-26th September 2013
Issue 4-Weeping Angel from "Flesh and Stone"-10th October 2013
Issue 5-Silurian from "Cold Blood"-24th October 2013
Issue 6-Dalek from "Dalek"-7th November 2013
Issue 7-Sontaran from "The Poison Sky"(The magazine has a typo saying "The Poisoned Sky")
Issue 8-The Tenth Doctor(from unknown episode)-5th December 2013(Not much about this figurine is known,it is missing the picture of Issue 1-10)
Issue 9-Ice Warrior from "Cold War"-19th December 2013
Issue 10-Silent from "The Impossible Astronaut"-2nd January 2014
The Figurines
The next page includes a little summary of all of eleven doctors with that Doctor's greatest adversaries.I love this page and hopeful they make a poster out of this.

And finally, there is a page about the making of the figurine, but I realised they work very hard making these figurines. They are really small and fragile, but they are the best that we could probably get.And the opposite page,we get a inside look at the magazine,I wish they could off made the magazine have more content,Because the DWM have 80-100 pages and this magazine has 20 pages, but it is great to read.I will review the actual magazine in Part 2.

Come back later for Part 2!
